The Navy’s Blue Angels fly near downtown Dallas last week.

So here I was all set up on the balcony of our apartment in Dallas waiting for the big show. I had seen the Blue Angels a number of years ago at Carswell so I thought I knew what to expect. Our balcony faces south (downtown) so I was watching some construction workers on the new Marriott off of Maple expecting them to start pointing when they saw them. Not! All of a sudden the Blue Angels were zooming by to my left and my attempt to get a video on the Cannon M6 did not work so here are a couple of shots I got on the first pass. The first one is them going behind the Polsineli building near downtown and then flying by the big comm tower near the AA center. On the 2nd pass they were much further south and thus, no pics.

IMG_4976San Miguel de Allende is a very festive town. We were told that there were literally hundreds of weddings there every month and lots of festivals and celebrations. On this day we came across a parade in the remembrance of when this area was recognized as city. Each neighborhood had their own marketing band and in some cases, as here, costumed participants.

IMG_4708On the streets of San Miguel de Allende, I would come across scenes that may he hard for some not to ignore. Int his case, a mother selling trinkets and snacks while her daughter is asleep at he side. The local officials try to discourage this and the tourists walk across the street. I am an old softy from way back help if I can.

IMG_5205While walking the back streets of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico we came across so many ladies who were selling a variety of goods and in this case, fresh flowers. Normally, I would have converted this to black and white but because of the rich colors in the building and the flowers, I decided it needed to stay as is.

IMG_4815While redoing my Zenfolio site, I found a folder of some of my photos of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico from our trip last spring that I had forgotten about. I continues to amaze me how  easy it is to bring out the striking colors with little effort. This little town reminded so much of Tuscany because ever time I turned a corner, there seemed to be a photo opportunity.
